Basic Purpose:
Implements planned project activities for existing products and solutions to meet customer requirements for customization, localization and/or delivery. This engineer will ensure product and solution fulfillments, including but not limited to customization and overall quality assurance, prior to customer delivery. Typically requires three to four years of technical experience in product implementation or support. Usually reports to the Operations Manager or Director.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Mandatory attendance in the NY office every day from 9 am to 5 pm (minimum)
Fulfillment
- Product and Solution Server Fulfillment
This person will be expected to be able to execute all aspects required to fulfill and deliver all of Fine Point’s server based solutions
- Product and Solution Client Fulfillment
Over time this person will be expected to be able to execute all aspects required to fulfill and deliver all of Fine Point’s client side solutions
Support
- First level support
Answer emails and calls
- Escalate as needed
Follow touch and hold process to always be main point of contact with customers, as applicable
Quality Assurance (QA)
- Server & Client QA
- Assist with documentation support
Screen shots, bullet points on testing methods and/or features
Sales
- Support renewals
This person will be expected to be in constant contact with existing and new customers to ensure their support is up to date
In advance of support contracts expiring, this person will be in touch with the customer to ensure they have had time to budget for the yearly renewal
- Sales
This person will not be expected to make new sales or even up sell existing customers to additional solutions.
Should this person excel in this area, additional compensation will be discussed accordingly
Pre-Sales Support
- This position will have a built in growth path to become more customer facing and support sales as needed either remotely or at customer sites as a pre-sales engineer
Time Break Down
70% = Fulfillment, Support (renewals and technical support), & QA
20% = Product Research (solution status within the market), Pre-Sales Support, & Sales (up sell)
10% = Miscellaneous internal projects, research and additional QA
Essential Education, Skills and Environment:
Education and Work Experience
- This position requires a bachelor`s degree in business, software engineering or computer science. The ideal candidate typically has four to five years of technical experience in product development or support.
Specialized Knowledge and Skills
- This position requires a good working knowledge of the company`s software development and design procedures as well as good organizational, decision making and communications skills.
Equipment and Applications
- PCs and various software applications, Windows and Macintosh operating systems including the standard suite of software, as well as experience with Linux a plus.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
- This position will expose the employee to a general office environment. Some stress may occur at times. No special physical demands required.
